Liesel changes over the period of the text in response to other characters and events in a lot of different ways. One way would be that she really starts to understand her new family, and also grows a relationship with them. Another would be that she is now interacting with the other kids on the street and playing soccer with them. Also she has made a new friend in Rudy, who sometimes goes with her to get the loads of cloths to bring back to Liesel’s mom. Lastly she is really becoming familiar with her dad and she likes him because of how comforting he is too her and things like that.
Liesel, upon her arrival to Himmel Street is a shy and lonely girl who feels as if she has nothing to look forward to in life, as her brother is dead, her mother has left her and her father is missing. She has experienced much pain and that has weighed heavily on her attitude and outlook on life in Germany. Her attitude quickly changes as she meets Rudy, her best friend and her foster father, Hans. Hans teaches Liesel to read and write and Liesel soon finds solace and happiness in her books. Books help her to ignore the travesties of WWII and she becomes happy again. She lives up to the antics of any other child, laughing and playing with friends and enjoying the good in her life. She still remembers her past life, but she learns to not reflect too heavily on it and enjoy the good of her life.
Liesel changes over the course of the book in response to her relationship with her foster parents and friend. When she first arrived at Himmel Street, she came with a burden of thoughts and feelings. She had seen the death of her brother and lost her mother. Her foster parents asked her to call them “Mama” and “Papa” to make her feel more at home (35). This opened up a relationship with her father. Liesel developed a relationship with him when he taught her how to read. Liesel became a much calmer person after that. Even though her past memories were still in her head, she tried to become a better person. Then, she developed a friendship with a boy named Rudy. Rudy was good friend to her and helped her try to come to the present and not stay in the past. Liesel changed over the course of the book due to her relationship with her father and friendship with Rudy.
At the very beginning of the story Liesel is very scared and shy. She is not excited to see what is going to come next in her life. Her brothers dead, she feels like her mother has abandoned her, and her father has been missing for a long time. After staying with her foster parents for a while her attitude towards life changes. Her foster father is very kind and knows exactly what to say to make her feel better, and teaches her how to read. She also meets Rudy, a boy who ends up becoming her best friend. After so many good things have happened to her she starts to release her past, though she will always remember it. Liesel realizes just how lucky she is and what a good life she has. She will always remember her past but she will also certainly always remember her life with Hubermans.
when liesel arrives on Himmel street she is scared to live with her foster parents but she ends up really liking them and knows that they love her and they can provide her with things her mother couldn’t. Also when she moved in she had no friends and she didn’t know anything about where she was living. Rudy Steiner decides to be friends with her and he shows her around the neighborhood and tells her who lives where and what they are like. He also teaches her to play soccer and helps her make more friends. Even though liesel knows she will never forget her troubling past she always realizes how lucky she is to be living with such a nice family and have such a good life.
I think Liesel changes over the course of text in many ways, in response to other characters and events. When, Rudy and her go steal with some other kids and their new leader Viktor Chemmel she’s not afraid to steal and, she’s not afraid when Viktor throws rude comments in her direction. Also, when Max starts to get sick she becomes more sympathetic and caring while she helps him get better with some assistance from her parents Rosa and Hans. While Max is sick she starts bringing him small gifts and reading books to him twice a day. I also think she has become more outgoing when she is around her classmates and other people around town. Like when, she calls her mother a “stupid cow” in front of the class which then makes them laugh.
Liesel becomes less timid and more outgoing, and adventurous. She starts to steal books from the mayor’s house and stands up for herself more. She also makes new friends like Rudy who help her become more adventurous. As she lives on Himmel Street for longer and longer she becomes more and more influenced from the people who live there. She starts to read more and more and during the air raids she reads out loud to calm the other people in the shelter. Liesel changes in many ways because of other characters.

When Liesel first arrives at Himmel Street, she is very shy and wants to leave. However, through the series of events that had happened to her. She comes out of her shell. When foster mother forces her to call them "mama" and "papa" she probably feels more at home. Also when mama forces her to help with the work around the house, she starts to feel like one of the kids, who aren't being treated like a marshmallow. When papa sleeps with her through the night because she has nightmares, she probably thinks of him moe as a fatherly figure afterwards.
